The Saddle River Cafe by chef Jamie Knott has opened just across the Saddle River from Knott’s fine-dine restaurant, Saddle River Inn.
“What excites me about the cafe is that we offer a great variety of healthy choices for the modern active diet,” Knott said in an email. “I think it’s just what the community needed.”
The menu is filled with contemporary and creative American eats such as a lobster omelette with fingerling potatoes and a Bearnaise sauce ($22), a gluten-free “BKT” omelette with bacon, kale and tomato jam; acai bowl with pineapple, kiwi and dragon fruit ($10); Challah French toast with fruit chutney ($14); and crab cake on a sesame brioche ($24).
